Q. How long have you been in business?
Our founder of the company, started the business over 21 years ago. Since then, we have been providing our customers with top quality disc jockey and karaoke services.

 

Q. How big is your music library?
Our music library is very extensive. It ranges all genres and goes back to the days of the Big Band era right up to today's current hits. If there is something that we do not have that you have requested then we will get it. We have literally 10's of thousands of songs in our library. However feel free to bring along any music from your own collection that you feel we may not have.

 

Q. Do you take song requests?
Yes. We encourage our guests to make song requests. There are a few basic policies around requests that we follow:

  1. It must be appropriate for the event and fit the wishes of the client
  2. The song must be danceable
  3. It must fit the flow of the event

 

Q. How much input can I have on the song selection?
As much input as you would like. It's your special event so we will play the music that you want to hear. In addition to your requests, our DJ's know how to "read the crowd" and play the right songs at the right time.

 

Q. How interactive are your DJ's?
This completely depends on the event and your preferences. Our DJ's can be very interactive, or more conservative, depending on your preference. Of course the DJ's job is to motivate the crowd and make sure that everyone is having a good time.

 

Q. We may need an MC for our event, is this something you can help us with?
Absolutely! We would be more than happy to act as your MC. We do encourage you to consider having a relative or long-time friend as your MC, as they will often share personal stories and memories. We are also happy to speak with your MC directly if you would like us to assist him/her in planning your event.

 

Q. Do you have any ideas for kissing games or ideas for giving away our center pieces?
We certainly do! We can provide you with some ideas that previous clients have used.

 

Q. How does your booking procedure work?
Upon booking with us, we require a deposit. This deposit ensures that your event is the only one booked with your DJ for that day. The balance remaining can be paid by post-dated cheque or can be paid to the DJ at the beginning of your event.

 

Q. Can I get a discount if I book my stag and doe and my reception with you?
Yes, please mention that you are interested in booking both events with us and a discount will be applied.

 

Q. Do you have references?
Yes, we can provide references.

 

Q. Will I be able to contact you after I have booked to go over any questions, details, etc?
Absolutely! If you call us we will most likely be in our office and can talk with you at that time. However, if we are out, please leave a message and we will get back to you promptly. We promptly respond to all e-mail messages. We can also arrange appointments for in-person consultations.

 

Q. When will you set up?
We attempt to be ready before your first guests arrive. Set up usually takes about 30 mins, light or video shows a little longer.

 

Q. What if we want our DJ to stay longer than we requested?
Usually this isn't a problem. The DJ's will usually play extra hours if the function is going late. The charge for overtime after 1 am is $50/hr and is due in cash. Our DJ's are open for negotiation.

 

Q. What do we wear?
We always present a clean, professional appearance including shirts, ties, dress pants and jackets, depending on the type of function, we also do casual! Please let us know if you have specific requirements in this area. (ie.black tie)

 

Q. What if our plans change after we make an agreement with you to DJ our event?
If anything changes that alters our original agreement, you must let us know in writing so it is documented and we will try to accommodate you. Please ensure that we communicate to you that we have received your change request and agree to it in order to avoid surprises. DO NOT assume that voice messages or e-mails have been received unless you hear back from us.

 

Q. What are your requirements?
We do require notice for outdoor functions or unusual locations (ie.far from power) so we can bring the appropriate cables. We prefer to set up as close to the dance floor as possible. We do require a table with linen (6 ft min) and a regular 110v power outlet.

 

Q. What is AVLA Licensing?
AVLA Audio-Video Licensing Agency Inc. is a non-exclusive agency that provides licences on behalf of record companies and producers for the purpose of broadcasting or duplicating audio and video recordings in Canada.

AVLA's members are the owners or controllers in copyright of sound recordings and music videos (record companies)

AVLA's licenses have agreements with AVLA that permit them to:

  1. make copies of sound recordings owned by AVLA members for the purpose of entertainment to the public, lease copies of sound recordings to commercial subscribers and transmission sound recordings via webcast; and to
  2. make copies of music videos and perform music videos or for the purpose of entertainment to the public (broadcast) and lease copies of music videos to commercial subscribers
